I am so excited to be the Literacy Coach here at Pate Elementary. Reading is a favorite hobby of mine and teaching reading is a passion. I'm excited about passing that passion on to our students.
I was born and raised in Charleston, SC, so I am a coastal girl at heart. I graduated with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University (GO EAGLES!) in 2005. I also have a M.Ed. degree in Reading from Winthrop. I received my National Board Certification in 2013 in Literacy. I am a recent graduate of Coastal Carolina University (GO CHANTS!), where I obtained my M.Ed. degree in Educational Leadership in 2019.
I have been teaching for 14 years. In those 14 years, I have taught grades 1st - 4th grades and I was Reading Recovery Teacher for 4 years. I look forward to all the good things that we will do with our students in reading and writing this year!
