About Us

History.Pate Elementary School
Just outside the city limits, you will find our wonderful school located on 21 acres of land. When the school opened in 1956, it served students in first through sixth grade. Three major additions to the building, a new cafeteria and ten classrooms, have increased the physical size of the facility. For most of its history, the school has housed students in kindergarten through sixth grade. It became a pre-kindergarten through third grade school in 1994. The third grade moved to our feeder school at the end of the 2005-2006 school year. The student body is now composed of children in pre-kindergarten through second grade.  Pate received the honor of being recognized as an NCLB Blue Ribbon School for its exemplary instruction and for closing the achievement gap.  Our faculty and staff is dedicated to providing a rich and effective learning environment for all of our students and our mission is to prepare students to be productive citizens for life.
