Guidance

Ray

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Ray, and I am SO excited to be working with you and your child this school year! This will be my sixth year serving as the school counselor at Pate Elementary, and I am looking forward to supporting you and your child in any way that I can. My role encompasses working with all of our students to provide a comprehensive and effective school counseling program through in-direct and direct counseling services. At Pate, our program follows the guidelines of the ASCA National Model and aligns accordingly with the missions of the SC Dept. of Education and the Darlington County School District.

Our counseling program consists of bi-weekly guidance lessons on social-emotional skill development, academic success, and we touch on careers at the end of the school year (to coincide with our annual Career Day)! I meet with students individually and in small group settings to provide support in all areas of their lives.

I was born in Queens, New York and grew up in a suburb outside of New York City until I moved to South Carolina in 2017. I received my Bachelors in Psychology from Manhattanville College (Purchase, NY); and my Masters in School Counseling from Mercy College (Dobbs Ferry, NY). During my free time, I love to read books on wellness, go for hikes, go to the beach, travel and be outside in nature as much as I can! I live in Hartsville with my husband Pete and our dog Baby Mush.
